Runners Be Well Hydrated

Running is a physical activity which put stress/pressure on your body muscles, no matter if you run as athlete or marathon runner or in any other event. During running, body feels and generate heat and as a result sweats a lot which decreases the fluid level. Hence maintaining proper hydration is must and of much importance for good performance and overall health. 

If you don’t maintain proper hydration level, additional pressure on heart may be felt also we start losing concentration, feels fatigue. Now if you continue running in this stage a substance called as Glycogen is lost from body which is responsible for storing glucose which gives energy. This leads in slowing down your performance and putting your body at severe risk.

Simple solution to avoid dehydration is to drink sufficient amount of water and or supplement containing electrolytes some time before the run, if you are running long distance then after every half hour sip some fluid and then after completion the run as per the directions of trainer or your coach. This will help you in better concentration, keep you fresh, increase your endurance and maintain body temperature.

Indications of Dehydration:

1. Weakness                

2. Muscle cramps

3. Headache               

4. Loosing concentration

5. Confusion               

6. Dry mouth/ lips      

7.Slow reaction time

Being Hydrated will give you complete joy of running.
