1. Sprint Spikes:

Used for  60m, 100m, 200m, 400m (also used in hurdles and relays)

Features:  lightweight, rigid spike plate, and minimal cushioning

Meant for: maximum speed and power to cover shorter distances

No. of Spikes: 6 to 8

2. Middle Distance Spikes:

Used for  400m to 1500m

Meant for: better control and speed and balance

Features: Moderate weight, semi rigid spike plate and moderate cushioning

No. of Spikes: 4 to 8

3. Long Distances Spikes:

Used for  1500m and above.

Meant for: high pressure and impact
