Running helped me to be disciplined and consistent
I was very surprised when I saw my daughter loving and developing the
habit of running motivated by my medals and runs. Initially she use to ask me
for the company, enjoying every moment in nature and having fun. I thought she
will do it for some time, some days and later would change her mind or
automatically will shift to other some game or sports. But I was wrong; she started
developing more and more interest, learning the process of running. I was happy
seeing all this , as she was going to spend her time playing ,practicing outside
the walls instead of sitting infront of idiot box or on mobile. When I was enough
confident about her passion, I started planting basics of running by sharing my
own experiences as athlete and mother.
The first thing I put in her mind was about the discipline and consistency,
as running is all about timing, were as a sprinter you miss the finish line by
micro seconds. If you want to enjoy the process of running you need to set clear
and achievable goals for which you need to build and bring discipline in
yourself with strong mindset. Once you incorporate discipline in your running
you yourself will be out of bed in the early hours of a morning no matter what
the season is. This discipline helps us at the time when we come across injuries,
obstacles or setbacks, and instead of giving up, we start looking towards them
as opportunities.
The final words that I embedded in her mind were “Your consistency, discipline
you maintain with proper planning and technique will help you to focus to set
new goals, celebrate your achievement, not only in running but throughout your
life. It would be the receipt of your hard work, determination and dedication
you put into your journey with positive mindset”.
Be Disciplined and Consistent and focus on your goals.
