Sprinting Guide
Sprinting
is a type of fast run over short distance, where you try to be faster than
yesterday striving for your personal best. Sprinting involves mastering proper form and gradually increasing intensity. Speed is a key thing one has to
master to cross the finish line with proper technique. The role of technique is
very important in sprinting as compared to running. In this one has to master
on their body angles, ground contact time, arm movement and foot strike which are
totally different than running.
Sprinting
means application of maximum amount of force down to the ground.
As a sprinter one should focus on, Proper posture, Proper
Rhythm and Proper movement of leg and feet and strengthening of your muscles so
that you can maximize the force application. It is very important as a sprinter
to maintain form and speed throughout at each phase. This can be achieved by
practicing drills and working with a coach who observe you.
The four phases of sprinting are
Start-- Accelerate yourself -------Run as fast as
body permits--Decelerate
*Common Sprint Distances for Track Events: 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m

The
more force you can apply to ground the faster you will go.
