Go ahead, Want to start running at 40.

Many of them due to different reasons like their busy schedules, or not able to get rid of bed early morning, lack of motivation or inspiration, or some likes to be being only spectators beside the road during the running event  never be a part of it. Running is activity which has numerous health benefits that to at minimal investment without any equipment and can be performed as per individuals body requirement.

There are many who wish to start it but thinks of their age and drops the idea of starting it. Right from the day we started schooling we may have ran several times may be in sports activity or sometimes being late to reach to catch bus or at school gate. So everyone here is a runner and any one at desired moment of their present age can start running, it’s never too late. Just remember we are not same as we were at the age of 16 or 20, so take time to know all about running by reading articles, watching videos, talking to runners, seeking professional advice and start smartly, gradually with your pace.

If you haven’t run before and want to start: Here are some tips,

1. Lace up with comfortable pair of shoes and colorful running costume.

2. Start with simple walk for few weeks.

3. Split your walk with slow running for some seconds to minute.

4. Once you gain confidence gradually increase your distance and pace.

5. Listen to your body during run. (Never overstress)

6. Plan your running days (initially 2-3 days in a week is ok).

7. Be consistent.

8. Be well hydrated and take nutrious diet as per your run time well before.

9. Practice yoga, running workouts and exercise to strengthen you.

10. Don’t be overambitious by comparing others. (All are not same).

11. Seek medical help immediately if required.
