During entire life runner goes through various phases out of which some may be temporary but disturbing. Some runners have odd feeling of numb feet, no sensation during their runs. Foot numbness can be safety risk for runners making them uncomfortable.

Why foot goes numb after or during running.

Running is a high impact sports activity with lots of challenges along with excitement. Numbness is a common issue, where runners experience tingling or zero sensation after or during run. This issue can happen for a variety of reasons, most of which aren't serious and are easy to deal with. Factors like nerve compression, poor hydration, bad quality shoes or fitting, lacing too tight, repetitive stress, and muscle imbalances.  Some runners with medical condition like diabetes too bee the reason of numbness.

1. Drink plenty of water and be hydrated before and after run.

2. Perform warm-up before run to stretch muscles.

3. Don’t tie the laces too tight.

4. Don’t wear too tight shoes.

5.  Allow body to heal by giving proper rest and recovery time.

6. Vary your running surfaces.

7. Keep check on your running style and form.

8. Use medications if required as prescribed and needed.
